Market momentum is an overview of the stock market. Market momentum lists selected major market indices and market rates as well as a market momentum summary box.
The NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX and OTCBB advances/declines and shares traded include all active stocks for that day.
The new highs and new lows total require current daily volume greater than 10,000 shares and last price greater than $2, or last price multiplied by volume greater than 10,000 for OTCBB stocks, and the last price greater than $.25. Additionally, stocks must have traded for at least six months.
The market momentum box only takes into account those stocks trading that day, with the last price above $2 and stocks traded on the NYSE, NASDAQ or AMEX. This also includes the advances, unchanged and declines inside the market momentum box. Additionally, stocks must have traded for at least six months.
The momentum summary box contains a table of the number of stocks whose price has increased and decreased and the percentage of stocks above their 20-, 50-, 100-, 150- and 200-day moving average today, yesterday, last week and last month.
Momentum also lists the number of NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX stocks that have advanced and declined for the day with the volume of shares traded, as well as the number of new 52-week high and low stocks for each of the exchanges.
